Walk to Sowiniec

There are many ways to visit Krakow. The one that follows the footsteps of the mounds has the advantage of allowing you to get to know the city from an unusual perspective. Firstly, you are closer to the sky, secondly, you look at the city from above. And such a panorama is priceless.
A walk from the Salwator district to the highest hill in Krakow is a full-day trip surrounded by greenery and historic places. The reward for the undoubted effort will be beautiful views of the city and the surrounding area, both from Sowiniec and from the Kościuszko Mound, which is one of the points on the route of the trip.
The Kościuszko Mound is also a great vantage point. From the top, you can see Krakow with Wawel Castle, the Main Market Square with the Sukiennice and St. Mary's Basilica, but also Jordan Park, the Krakow Upland, the Sandomierz Basin and the Wieliczka Foothills. In good weather, the Tatras are also revealed.
The Sowiniec Hill, next to the Krakow ZOO, is the place where the highest of Krakow's mounds - the Piłsudski Mound - was built. For those who like statistics, it will be 393 meters above sea level and 35 meters high of the mound itself. It is the highest mound in Poland. Today it is one of the symbols of Krakow, a place in the Wolski Forest where you can relax, spend time with your family, stay in the forest, but also look at Krakow from a slightly different side.
