Father Bernatek footbridge

History place

The Father Bernatka footbridge connected two districts: Kazimierz and Podgórze. Both pedestrians and cyclists enjoy this picturesque way of crossing the Vistula River. The footbridge was built in 2010 on the site of the former Podgórski Bridge. Its patron was a monk Laetus Bernatek, the initiator of the construction of the hospital. Bonifratów in Krakow.

The characteristic arch of the footbridge (which is 145 meters long) is illuminated from below, and the railings are equipped with LED lighting. Balancing sculptures by Jerzy Kędziora have been hung over the footbridge.
