Centrum Administracyjne Kombinatu and shelters

History place

The Administrative Center (of the former Lenin Steelworks, today ArcelorMittal Poland) is the "gate" to the conglomerate. Modeled on the architecture of the Renaissance, the building is sometimes called the "Doge's Palace" or the "Vatican", the decorative attic resembles the Krakow Cloth Hall!

Behind the administrative buildings there is the largest plant in Poland, the area of which is almost 10 square kilometers. It produces steel, which is used to produce, inter alia, car bodies. An interesting fact is that the slag formed as a result of metallurgical processes (a waste product) found ... under the slab of the Main Market Square.

The Administrative Center hides a surprise in its basement - bunkers that were built at a time when an attack was feared nuclear. The Małopolska Association of History Lovers "Rawelin" has developed three sightseeing routes, during which you can see the unique interior of the Z building, one of the most interesting shelters in Poland with a fully equipped Combine Command Post and a typical shelter for employees with an exhibition of Civil Defense equipment.
