Galicia Jewish Museum

Museum

The museum saves from oblivion the traces of the Jewish past in former Galicia, located in today's south-eastern Poland and western Ukraine.

The museum, located in Kazimierz, in the heart of the former Jewish district of the city, shows history and culture Galician Jews and commemorates the victims of the Holocaust. You can see two permanent photo presentations here. The exhibition by Chris Schwarz and Jonathan Webber, Traces of Memory, documents the surviving fragments of the Jewish heritage of Polish Galicia, shows the places where the Holocaust took place, and presents post-war attempts to preserve the memory of Jewish heritage in Poland. The museum also hosts temporary exhibitions and organizes events promoting knowledge about the Jewish past in Poland among children, adolescents and adults.
