MOCAK Museum of Contemporary Art
Photo gallery 3
The post-industrial atmosphere, combined with a modern and functional structure made of glass and concrete, creates the perfect setting for the presentation of important phenomena in the art of the last half-century.
Reminiscence of the old halls of the enamelware factory (known from the film by Steven Spielberg's Schindler's List) It combines here with a modern and functional structure made of glass and concrete and creates the perfect setting for the presentation of contemporary art. MOCAK has its own, regularly enlarged collection of art from the last half-century (both Polish and foreign), and its development can be followed in the subsequent editions of the permanent exhibition. The exhibition is divided into several sections: conceptualism, video, sculpture and object. At the same time, you can see temporary exhibitions here, including the annual large-scale exhibition with problems that confront selected issues of contemporary public life with the gaze of artists (the presentations so far concerned, among others, history, sport, economy, crime, gender and medicine in art). MOCAK also regularly hosts the Krakow Photomonth exhibitions. The museum has its own library with a collection of books on contemporary art and humanities, conducts educational activities and carries out research and publishing projects.
